Ben lomand

Laidback and peaceful, Ben Lomond is one of a string of small mountain villages that lie along the San Lorenzo River and Highway 9, making up the San Lorenzo Valley. Ben Lomond has a population that's just over 2,000 and is a mostly residential community with a small but intriguingly varied selection of commercial establishments.

Ben Lomond was named after the mountain in Scotland which rises from the banks of the famed Loch Lomond and, aptly enough, there's a reservoir near Ben Lomond called Loch Lomond. The Loch Lomond Recreation Area is a great spot for a hike or a picnic, as well as boating and fishing for trout, bass and bluegill.

Located around half an hour south of Silicon Valley, Ben Lomond lies between Felton and Brookdale and is less than a 15 minute drive to Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz. Residents' needs are met by several shops and restaurants mostly clustered in the downtown area - among them the Ben Lomond Market, the colorful Ciao Bella restaurant, the Henflings Firehouse Tavern, the Tyrolean Inn, several antique stores and gift shops, and more.
